Beginning with version 2.11 betas, passwords are protected with a one-way MD5 hash, typical of most password systems. This still cannot prevent someone from cracking open a quest, which by necessity must be accessible to the game engine without knowing the quest's password, but such a person will be unable to see the clear-text of that quest's password.
Once again, if you choose to protect your quest, protect yourself too by using a unique password.
