Link is the main character in the Legend of Zelda series whom the player controls to explore the world, solve puzzles, use items, and defeat enemies, ultimately to rescue Princess Zelda. In ZQuest, the ability to edit sprites makes it possible to have a controllable hero other than Link, and therefore a nontraditional storyline.
